Tiger to usher in jungle power

Ken Leung has dire predictions for the world this year, including Canada‘s governing Conservatives.

Leung, a Feng Shui master living in West Kelowna, has consulted his charts and books for more than a decade to make predictions for the Chinese new year, which begins on Sunday. It‘s the year of the tiger, which symbolizes power in the jungle.

“It‘s a year of conflict,” he said. “There could also be a war happening. And a big year for separation, for unstable relationships.”

The Chinese have an old saying – one mountain can‘t have two tigers because they‘ll fight. That‘s why in Feng Shui, it‘s bad luck to have more than one picture or symbol of a tiger in your home or office. Otherwise, you‘ll have a power struggle.

The same dynamics apply to political change. Leung predicts more protests and demonstrations – especially over the

harmonized sales tax, which comes into effect in B.C. this summer. The world will see more confrontations between countries, managers and workers, governments and people.

“The people determine things, not the

government. I think there will be an election (in Canada). It will be a minority, but the government will change because the little guy will gain power; the big guy will get weak,” he said.

Leung, 53, has studied metaphysics most of his life. He has lived in the Kelowna area for more than 30 years. The married father of two used to own restaurants, but now spends much of his time dealing with friends and customers as a Feng Shui master.

He forecasts a high volume of car accidents, plane crashes, even train derailments in B.C. and around the world. Most people will have financial difficulty. Wood prices will continue to fall.

The economy will do well in the summer months, from May 14 to Aug. 9. But recession will predominate in the spring and winter seasons. Kelowna will benefit from the housing market this summer. And the stock market will surge, but only in the summer.

Tensions between the U.S. and China will spike after Aug. 10. China will remain the world‘s economic powerhouse, Leung predicts, but its money system is overheating.

“So many people put their money there. They have no way out. In China, the real-estate market is bubbling. They push too fast. The Chinese government is controlling the housing market. Once it bubbles, there could be huge damage to the economy.”

The good news is, we don‘t live in California. Leung is especially bleak about the state‘s future. He doubts a major earthquake will hit, but he won‘t rule out fire or other natural disasters.
